Happy Father's Day!

Father's Day is so different than Mother's Day. Where on Mother's Day it seems like the whole point of the day is to let the moms be without their children and relax. If I had my way I would get to sit in a quiet place and rock my babies all day long on Mother's Day but that would require some sort of medicating on their part so I never have, but on this day it seems like the only thing my kids want to do is be right next to wherever my hubby is going and with this little girl growing between my ribs I just don't have the desire (or ability) to stop them. Luckily I have the greatest husband who is a wonderful Father to these two so he doesn't mind being around them. Sometimes I think he down right enjoys it. (Wink, Wink)

This Father's Day Chris got to take Carter to all of his church classes because when he brought him into me in Relief Society Carter was literally clinging to his shirt screaming "NOOOO!" as I tried to pry him from his dad. He must have known they were serving they guys cake and cookies at the end of the hour....he's a smart boy with an appetite like his dad.

Then Chris got to prepare his own dinner. I helped but felt super guilty he was out their grilling and of course no one wanted to be inside with "just mom" so they had to be there-hands on-as you can see for the whole thing. I think he liked that too though he likes to show off his grilling skills.

He did get to do the one thing he really wanted on Father's Day and that was take a nap. He needed it and deserved it after this day. With all this talking I am just trying to say "Happy Father's Day" to a wonderful dad. One of the greatest things I got by marrying him was that he became a great father. Looking back I continually realize how lucky I am to have him and didn't realize on that "big day" what I was getting into and how I lucked out by getting a good guy who's #1 goal is to care for his family. He has always proven that to me from day one by always putting us first even when I tell him he needs to do something for himself he always thinks about us first. Happy Father's Day Honey. I love you!

Ballerina Dancer

This little girl doesn't ask for much. She is good at the store when we are checking out and we tell her we aren't getting candy and when we wander down the doll isle at the store we never have any whining. In fact they only time she tells me what she wants is when she is watching a Baby Einstein with Carter and ask for pretty much every toy on the screen....expect the robots those are scary. I think she gets it from her dad because I was so not that child. Anyway she is my little dancer and has been since she could bounce to any beat she could hear, so we finally started dance classes.

Unfortunately I was sick that day with Carter so we couldn't go but Chris said he never stopped smiling the whole time he was there.

They were warming up and doing stretches.
Chris said he would put his camera away and then have to pull it back out because she was doing something else that he wanted me to see. He said he was the only one there among all the mommies with his camera. What a guy! She is the youngest in her class and this is new to her but she'll do great.

The only surprise she came home hyper. Really hyper! I thinks she likes it!

And of course her favorite.....free style!

Carter did great today. He sat so still during all the test and they were pretty impressed with his patience at 17 months...little do they know. I think after all the visits to the pulmonologist that he has gotten pretty good at holding still for doctors. Everything went well and they said his heart looked and sounded great. We'll see where we go from here. Thanks for all the support and love!

The Boy of My Dreams

I already have the man of my dreams and I've had him for awhile but some other guy has snuck into my heart and it is him:

These pictures are from almost a year old. I can't believe how big he is now, but he still has those gorgeous blue eyes. The awestruck look with the open mouth is an often seen look around here too.

He has an important doctor appointment tomorrow to check the function of his heart. If you remember keep him in your prayers. He is a tough guy though so don't worry he always comes out wonderfully!
